Every writer of fiction becomes a writer of fiction because he or she once encountered a book that simply left them in awe; that communicated something majestic in a way that nonfiction simply couldn't.

For me, that book was John Steinbeck's "The Grapes Of Wrath." It not only opened up the migrant worker experience for me in a way no other book ever had, but also inspired me to want to do something like that too. But with subjects closer to my own life and experience.

So far, my attempts have resulted in several published short stories, some of which are have been accepted by online literary journals and can be read over the internet by clicking on the linked story titles below:

And I'm happy to say that I also recently finished my first novel. Its working title is "Crossing Over," and I'm currently revising it and looking for an agent to market it. A selected chapter from the book may turn up on this site shortly, so drop by soon.
